【Call for Papers】The 5th International Conference on the Translation of Taiwanese Literature

The Graduate Program of Translation and Interpretation at National Taiwan University will host the 5th International Conference on the Translation of Taiwanese Literature on November 7, 2026, at the Liberal Arts Teaching Building, National Taiwan University.

Theme:
Paths and Blueprints: Navigating and Reconstructing Taiwanese Literature in the Global Literary Field

The conference is co-organized by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, the New Century Taiwan Humanities Research Project of the College of Liberal Arts at National Taiwan University, and the Graduate Program of Translation and Interpretation. The conference aims to review the development of Taiwanese literature in translation over the past two decades and explore its position and future directions within the global literary landscape. Key topics include translation strategies, translator training, copyright promotion, and cross-cultural and cross-media dissemination.

Scholars and translators from Taiwan and abroad are cordially invited to submit papers. Suggested topics include:

1. Translation and the Representation of Indigeneity
2. Translation and the Multilayered Representation of Taiwanese History
3. Translation History and the Construction of Literary Reputation
4. Paratexts and the Manipulation of Translation
5. Translating Cross-Media Works
6. The Translation Industry and Professional Training
