The research achievements of our department have been featured in a special report by the Earth Science Research Promotion Center (ESRPC) of the National Science and Technology Council.

The featured interdisciplinary project, "Changing Coastal Landscapes of Changhua: Human-Made Drivers of Cross-Scale Spatial Development and Social-Ecological System Analysis," is a collaborative effort led by Distinguished Professor Yu-Ling Song, Professor Su-Fen Wang, Associate Professor Yi-Ching Chen, and Associate Professor Heng-Chang Chi of the Department of Geography, together with Distinguished Professor Hui-Chen Lin of the Department of Life Science, Tunghai University.

The project examines the coastal landscape evolution and social-ecological resilience of the Fangyuan intertidal area in Changhua, exploring the interactions among geomorphological changes, industrial activities, and socio-cultural development under both natural and human influences.

The research highlights the Department of Geography's strength in interdisciplinary collaboration and its commitment to local sustainable development. It also aligns with the ESRPC's mission of advancing the understanding of interactions between Earth systems and human society.
