Department of English | Top Amazon Seller Hour Loop Visits NCUE – English Department Alumni Return to Recruit Talent
On the morning of May 28, 2025, the well-known e-commerce company Hour Loop, ranked among Amazon’s Top 10 third-party sellers, hosted a company info session and recruitment event at Room 13103, Jie-Ying Hall, in the Department of English at National Changhua University of Education (NCUE). The event, coordinated by Professor Jia-Qing Ruan, drew a large crowd of students eager to learn more about the e-commerce industry. The atmosphere was energetic, with lively interactions throughout the session.
Hour Loop is a leading third-party seller on the Amazon platform, specializing in seasonal gifts and decorative items for the U.S. market. With a catalog of over 100,000 diverse products, the company has established solid partnerships with major international brands such as Mattel, Mud Pie, Roman, and RIEDEL. Their product lines span a wide range of categories, including toys, home décor, daily essentials, apparel, baby products, gardening tools, and pet supplies—offering consumers a rich and varied shopping experience. Hour Loop currently operates offices in major cities across northern, central, and southern Taiwan, showcasing its strong momentum for growth.
The visiting team featured an impressive lineup, led by HR Manager Jessica Lin and HR Specialist Kristie Kao, accompanied by Business Managers Sandia Zheng and Angeli Kuo, both proud alumni of NCUE’s Department of English. Their return to their alma mater to recruit future talent not only demonstrated a deep connection with the department but also exemplified the program’s excellence in nurturing successful professionals.
During the session, the Hour Loop team gave an in-depth introduction to the company’s operations, corporate culture, and career development opportunities. They also shared insights into the evolving cross-border e-commerce landscape and future industry trends. The two alumni provided personal stories of their journeys from university to the workplace, offering valuable career advice and inspiration to current students. The Q&A segment was particularly engaging, as students eagerly asked questions on topics ranging from daily job responsibilities and required skills to advancement opportunities. The Hour Loop team responded thoroughly and enthusiastically.
Department Chair Xiang-Jun Chu remarked that Hour Loop’s visit not only broadened students’ understanding of the international e-commerce sector, but also served as a motivational example through the success of department alumni. Through close collaboration between academia and industry, the department aims to cultivate even more globally minded and practically skilled talents who can shine in the fast-paced world of e-commerce.
