Changhua Christian Hospital has initiated the “Green Accompanying Ecological Art Exhibition” and the “Digital Guided Walks - Stroll in Chang Ji” digital platform promotion at the Gavin Russell Memorial Square. This project is part of the University Social Responsibility (USR) collaboration between Changhua Christian Hospital and National Changhua University of Education. The exhibition, a joint ecological art effort, serves as a practical response to the global ecological crisis of global warming and the greenhouse effect, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly “Climate Action”. The exhibition will run until the 16th.
Dr. Qing-shan Liu, deputy dean of Changhua Christian Hospital, highlighted that this collaboration aims to actively address global warming. By engaging the public, hospital staff, and students, the initiative strives to go beyond mere slogans. National Changhua University of Education and Changhua Christian Hospital are concurrently executing two projects. The “Digital Guided Walks - Stroll in Chang Ji” digital platform guides visitors through 7 story points in Changhua Christian Hospital, while Professor Sheng-hui Huang from the College of Liberal Arts at National Changhua University of Education leads students in an extracurricular activity to foster understanding and support for the cause. The goal is to make a tangible impact on mitigating global warming.
Pin-hua Wang, associate professor of the Department of Fine Arts at National Changhua University of Education, emphasized the implementation of the eco-village plan as part of the Ministry of Education’s USR initiative. Through collaboration with Changhua Christian Hospital, the goal is to offer urban residents a shared green space along the streets, promoting the joy of plant life and contributing to the local ecosystem of Changhua, with a focus on reducing carbon emissions and building an ecological city.
National Changhua University of Education’s USR project, titled “Ecovillage•Sustainable Cities and Communities – Changhua Ecological Art Project”, envisions reducing carbon through tree planting, alleviating the urban heat island effect, and fostering an ecological city. The “Green Accompanying-Ecological Art Exhibition” features works by artists Yong-ning Zeng, Hao-ning Zhang, Hong-qi Xu, and Jun-jie Guo, utilizing botanical paintings, green planting installations, and light creations.
The “Green Accompanying-Ecological Art Exhibition” not only signifies a local alliance between CSR of Changhua Christian Hospital and USR of National Changhua University of Education but also represents a “diversified partnership” dedicated to “local care”. Moreover, it actively embodies the concept of “Sustainable Cities and Communities”, contributing to the creation of a local ecosystem.
Changhua Christian Hospital and National Changhua University of Education’s joint effort, the “Green Accompanying-Ecological Art Exhibition”, provides an urban oasis for residents, encouraging the cultivation of green spaces along the streets. The project aligns with the vision of planting trees to reduce carbon emissions and fosters the development of an ecological city.
